Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed, it’s time for Giving Tuesday! Can you imagine how many people we could help if we all donated the money we saved from those amazing shopping deals? Can you imagine how many people could find help, hope, and healing? ‘Tis the season to give back! 
The Center relies on support from our community throughout the year, and the holiday season is no different. Survivors need support every day, and that’s why our 24-Hour Help Line never closes. Even on Christmas Day.
So how can you help? Read below for a few ideas.
Donate now! We always need help filling in the holes in our budget. And now’s the perfect time to give — get in your end-of-year donation so you can claim your 2012 taxes. Or, consider making a monthly gift. You can sign up to donate each month from your credit card — even a small amount will be extremely helpful since your consistent giving helps us balance our budget during the times of year that donations are low.
Come to our Auction! Our 25th Annual Holiday Auction is only 5 days away! Join us in celebrating the silver anniversary of our Auction on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel. We’ll have excellent items in our silent and live auctions, scrumptious sweets in our signature dessert auction, and more. We only have a few left, so get your tickets today! Throw a party! Any gathering of friends and family can become an opportunity to give back. One supporter throws a holiday party each year and invites everyone to donate to the Center in exchange for an exciting evening of dinner, drinks, and socializing. Or, turn your holiday cookie swap into a fundraiser: have guests “vote” for their favorite cookie with cash, and donate the proceeds to the Center. Check out more tips from our Fundraising Guide.
Shop at Twig! Each year, Twig hosts an annual fundraiser for local nonprofits. As you do your holiday shopping, stop by Twig for awesome gifts. When you check out, ask to designate the Orange County Rape Crisis Center, and we’ll receive 20% of your purchase. But hurry — this deal only runs through December 2!
Search, Dine & Shop! Register with goodsearch, gooddining, and goodshop. When you register, choose the Center as the cause you support. When you use their search engine, we’ll get a few pennies. When you safely and securely register your credit card, and then dine at participating restaurants, you’ll earn cash for the Center. And when you shop online via goodshop, you’ll earn even more for the Center.
Volunteer! We could not do the work we do in Orange County without help from volunteers. We support over 550 clients each year, and we reach over 10,000 youth and adults each year with education programs. That’s a lot! Check out our volunteer opportunities, and get involved. We need volunteers to answer the help line, present educational programs, serve on our Board of Directors, and more.
