The Center could not do the work we do without volunteers. We rely on volunteers to support clients, deliver education programs, and provide administrative support.

Outreach Ambassadors represent the Center by educating the community about the services and programs we provide.

Childcare Volunteers provide childcare while parents attend support groups and workshops.

Community Educators present programs to local students about sexual violence and prevention skills.

Latino Advocates support community outreach and education to Spanish speakers in our community.

Support Group Facilitators lead support groups for survivors of sexual violence.

Companions provide support and resources to survivors of sexual violence.

The Board of Directors is the governing body working to meet the mission and vision of the Center.

Office Volunteers assist with tasks and special projects in the Center’s business offices

One Time Volunteers Needed!

The Four on the Fourth — the first race in Cardinal TrackClub’s Le Tour de Carrboro — is coming up on Thursday, July 4th, 2019 and we need volunteers to cheer on the runners!

Each year the OCRCC partners with the Cardinal TrackRace Club to raise important funds for our cause. In order for us to receive the benefit money involved, the Center must agree to provide 8 volunteers to cheer on the runners and act as course monitors for each of their 3 races.

If you’re in town for the fourth, please join us in volunteering as course cheerleaders! Bring the family out to do your good deed for just a couple hours before going home to prepare for your fireworks and fun. Volunteers are needed from 7:30 to 10:30 am in downtown Carrboro — no training needed. If you can help, please contact Development Coordinator Jacob Nelson at jacob@ocrcc.org.

As a volunteer, you make an appreciable impact on our community. And we need your help more than ever. Each year we serve about 600 clients, and we see each of those clients an average of 5 times – a 60% increase in the past 5 years. We need Companions and Latino Advocates to help us provide free and confidential support. Additionally, we reach over 17,500 youth and adults each year with our education programs. We need Community Educators to help us provide over 800 programs each year. There is always a job to be done here, and we need your help to do it!
