As part of the weekend events around the Not So Normal 5K, Southern Rail will host a benefit night. Stop by for dinner, and 10% of sales will benefit the Center. And the Not So Normal folks are offering child care at the Carrboro ArtsCenter, so no need to pay for a babysitter.

The Not So Normal 5K is a family-friendly, casual 5K that runs just under 3 miles (not quite a 5K) through downtown Carrboro. If you register before August 30 and join the OCRCC team, then $5 of your registration will benefit the Center! Find out more and register here, and view the entire weekend of events here. And connect with the Not So Normal 5K on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Reading & Benefit Night: The Year After at Flyleaf Books

Thursday, September 25. Reading and discussion at 7pm. Sales benefit 6-9pm. Flyleaf Books.

Join Ashley Warner for a reading and discussion of her memoir, The Year After. With unflinching honesty and unsinkable spirit, Warner offers a rare and intimate portrait of trauma and sexual violence. Now a psychoanalyst, Warner subtly brings a forward-looking perspective to the narrative while remaining true to the arduous journey through emotional volatility, interpersonal conflict, and the tasks of criminal prosecution. The result is an empowering memoir about the courage to heal and the promise of peace.

Additionally, 10% of proceeds from Flyleaf‘s sales that evening will benefit the Center.
