24-Hour Helplines

Our three helplines operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year, whether it’s to answer questions, share information about our services, or just to talk.  You can call us immediately after the experience, weeks, or even years later.

Welcome to the Orange County Rape Crisis Center (OCRCC) Chat Line!

Welcome to the OCRCC Chat Line —a free and confidential service that provides live help over our website. It works just like instant messaging or texting. You’ll go into a private session with a trained advocate and communicate by typing messages back and forth. The Chat Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

By clicking below, you will be put directly into a chat with a trained advocate.

First, we’d like to explain some online safety concerns:

  • The OCRCC Chat Line has been designed with your privacy and safety as the top priority
  • Once a Chat Line conversation is finished, it is permanently deleted
  • While we have done everything possible to ensure your anonymity on our end, we cannot guarantee that your computer does not have spyware or other internet history tracking tools
  • Anything you disclose during chat with one of our trained counselors is confidential unless you disclose harm to yourself or others, abuse or neglect of a child, or a vulnerable adult

The OCRCC Chat Line cannot eliminate all risk. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable or unsafe using the Chat Line, you may contact us by phone or text on our 24-hour free and confidential hotline at (919) 967-7273.

What to expect when you call the Helpline

You will speak directly to a staff member.

You will be put on hold while and advocate prepares to answer your call.

An advocate will answer your call within 5 to 10 minutes.

Si no habla inglés, aún puede llamar a la línea de ayuda.

If you don't speak English, you can still call the helpline

Who should call our helpline?

We support survivors of all types of sexual violence, such as rape, assault, harassment, stalking, sex trafficking, incest, and child sexual abuse. We are also available to talk to those who feel negatively impacted by a sexual experience. Our services are available to all members of the community regardless of race, socioeconomic class, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, language, national origin, and immigration status.

The OCRCC serves minors who are 13-17 years old. The following exceptions apply:

  • If a minor tells us directly or if we suspect that they or another minor is being harmed, we may be required by law to report this to the authorities.
  • We cannot offer ongoing services to minors without parental consent.
