Childcare Volunteers

The Center is looking for caring and responsible individuals to provide childcare while parents attend support groups and workshops. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know amazing children while allowing their parents to continue their healing process.

Childcare Volunteers typically serve in our Chapel Hill office; however, some groups are offered off-site. Volunteers sign up for childcare shifts as their schedule permits, but must work a minimum of 2 shifts per 6 months. Shifts are 1-3 hours long and typically occur on evenings and weekends.

A 2.5-hour training session is required. Training will address OCRCC protocols, understanding and preventing child sexual abuse, and example activities for children. Trainings are scheduled intermediately throughout the year, based on interest.

To learn more or to register for the next training, contact our volunteer coordinator at Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Spanish speakers and individuals with prior childcare experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
