Our Speakers Bureau is comprised of primary and secondary survivors of rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and other forms of sexual violence who are interested in sharing their experiences of trauma and healing. The Bureau provides the opportunity for survivors to share their stories and to educate the community about sexual violence and the Center’s services. Speakers share their personal stories in a variety of formats.
Members of our Speakers Bureau have been interviewed in a variety of formats for a wide range of topics. Within the Speakers Bureau, each member sets their own boundaries. For example, some members may be happy to talk with a newspaper reporter but may not wish to be pictured or videotaped. Some prefer to not use their full names, opting for an anonymous name or the use of just their first name.
If you are interested in having a member of the Speaker’s Bureau share their experiences at an event or in an interview, please contact Development & Communications Director Alyson Culin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-968-4647. Please share as many details of your request as possible, and we will connect you with a member of the Bureau. Our utmost concern is for members’ privacy and comfort, so please understand that we may not be able to fulfill every request.
