How to Create a Fundraising Page:

Step 1: Go to the OCRCC team page:

Step 2: Click on “Join Team.”

Step 3: Sign up either through using your Facebook login information or by filling out the form.

Step 4: Next, you will need to fill out the pop-up window with information about fundraising like $ goal, your page title, etc. For the question, “Would you like to join a team,” choose Orange County Rape Crisis Center from the dropdown menu.

Step 5: Once you click “Save and Finish,” your page will be almost ready!

Step 6: The page will be filled with default information. Feel free to upload a picture of yourself, write about your relationship to the Center, or just a blurb about yourself! You can also create a custom URL to make your page easier to find. This can be done under the “Edit My Page” link in the dark grey horizontal navigation bar located below your picture.

You have now created a fundraising page! Join us for the free community walk on Saturday, March 29. Or, if you would like to run in the 5K or 10K race, you can register here.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I edit my fundraising page once it has already been created?

Yes! Login at the top right-hand corner and then click “Manage” on the right-hand side. It will take you directly to “Edit My Page” screen.

Can I run the race?

If you’d prefer, you can register to run the race here. Registering to run costs between $32 – $40 depending on date of registration, and there is both a 5K (USATF certified) and 10K option. Participating in the community walk and fundraising is free — you do not have to register. The officially timed run begins at 8:00 am. The community walk begins immediately after the runners take off. Walkers may choose to walk the full course or to take a few marked shortcuts.

What if I’m busy that day?

If you do not want to walk or run, or if you’re just busy that Saturday, we’ll miss you, but you can still join our team to create a fundraising page and support the Center!

Can I only fundraise online?

You can fundraise both on and offline. If a donor writes a check, have them make it out to “The Great Human Race” and write “OCRCC” on the memo line. You can turn in all checks at the event on March 29. If you choose not to run or walk in the race, please bring all checks to Alyson at the Center by 5 pm on March 28.

Will all of my fundraising efforts go directly to the Center?

The race is run through the Volunteer Center of Durham, so they collect 15% of all donations to cover race expenses and benefit their programs. Also, online credit card donations are subject to an additional 5% fee. If you’d like to avoid these fees and make sure as much as possible goes to the Center, see the above question about fundraising offline, or donate directly to the Center.
